I've seen 3 versions of the IM since being on the site and each time they come out with a new version it gets worse. This latest version is totally unusable on my smartphone.

The IM over time has steadily gotten worse & each supposed upgrade is worse with less features Last upgrade we lost the ability to hover over the profile pic & it would enlarge as well as give the persons mini profile. Also they no longer tell you how many miles away the person is. I often like to scroll out about 700miles away from where I live because I own a rental house there & like to keep up with a few gals from that area. Now I might be able to scroll once, maybe twice & then it starts skipping the entire region & jumps out further. No action by AdultFriendFinder after several e-mails on this corruption. Liked it much better when you could scroll continuously at speed without having to constantly hit the "view more members" at the bottom of the page. Hard to chat with someone that's not local because of this. Hate paying points, which you seemingly can no longer earn to have a chat with someone. This site was based on interaction & now that they have tried to monetize every aspect of it, it's no longer worth the price of admission for what you get, as we have lost so many things that made the site function so much better in the past. You want me to upgrade to Gold? Why should I again when basic problems aren't fixed & so many privileges have been removed. Remember the basic tenants of a successful business, our success as basic or Gold members should guarantee your success. Screw us & your platform withers away. I would certainly like to know how a "chat" can be considered a "chat" when it's only "delivered" but not "read" by another as a chat by definition is a conversation between 2 or more people, not a one way dialogue with yourself? Anybody got an answer for that? I also feel after being a member for more than 10yrs that cell phones have ruined IM chat & etiquette because people are distracted by their devices & can't stay focused & the chat process isn't fast enough. At least we shouldn't be docked points for unanswered attempts at conversation. And on the subject of points, how the hell does one earn them anymore!? Logging in/out doesn't work. No points for commenting on blogs, videos, liking a photo. W.T.F.! Want me to be involved with the site, reward me for my efforts if you're going to have a stupid points system. I've always felt the points thing & buzzmode toys were very discrimenatory towards men as women aren't as visual & don't watch cams as often nor do the toys which cost far to much work all that well for men either. Let people cam for the fun of it, like before, not to be cam whores that are trying to make some points for money upon which the house takes a share. It's awful compared to what used to be & personally when it comes down to it I'd much rather go to a real strip club in the flesh for my money, then a virtual one. Two of the other things that I miss on this site are being able to search by zipcode which was convenient for road trips & more recently the loss in search of being able to filter out members in your area that haven't been active in more than a week or two. My area has very few actives for the IM & camming. Maybe they are still available by e-mail but you can't do that as a std. member & I also feel that if a paying member sends you an e-mail you should be able to answer it, even if you can't send e-mails out as a std. member unless once again you pay extra as a gold member to have std. contacts. If you're Gold you should be unlimited. I could go on about more things that we've lost over the years. I've had a lot of fun here, had some great dates & FWB's in that time, & am still dating a couple, but we all agree the site seems past it's prime & needs some major renovation's & house cleaning to become relevant again. It's why I've remained a std. member for so long after being gold, as there has got to be a better site with more value for the bucks I spend.

It appears there is a delay sometimes when people are actually on IM and when the system shows they are on IM. People have said they were on at an earlier time than when I tried to IM and the system showed they were on
